Centenary Dinner and Players of the Year for 2026
At the recent Centenary Dinner, the Players of the Year for the three elevens were presented with their trophies. In a year where any number of players would have been worth winners, the trophies went to Nithish Saravanan, Ashish Parlani, and Andrew Bentley.
Nithish joined the club from Stirling County during the season and made an immediate impact, going on to make 389 runs at an average of 35.36, and taking 20 wickets.
Ashish dropped down form the First XI at the start of the season, and made the most of it, making 415 runs, and taking 23 wickets, with a spectacular 157 in there, along with a five-for.
While Andrew Bentley didn’t necessarily trouble the scorers with the bat, his bowling economy of 3.7 was the stuff of captains’ dreams, particularly on some of the roads the Third XI played on.
Congratulations to all three players for their thoroughly deserved awards.
